Care Guide

Welcome to your silver care guide, where you'll find everything you need to know about your piece and how to maintain it at its best:

About Your Piece

Your piece is made from 925 or 999 silver (refer to your listing for details). Like all silver, it will naturally tarnish and develop a patina over time with regular wear and exposure to the elements—and that's completely normal. Even if harsh conditions (e.g. accidental wear into a hot spring) cause a noticeable colour change, this only affects the surface of the piece. The beauty of solid silver jewellery is that it's incredibly resilient and made to last a lifetime and more—a visit to a jeweller for a repolish, or simply using an over-the-counter product, may be all it takes to restore that original shine.

Polishing Cloths

Depending on your order, your package may include one or both of the following cloths:

  1. White cloth: This is a pre-treated cloth for daily polishing, buffing away light tarnish, dirt and moisture.
  2. Pink cloth: This is a Town Talk cloth, pre-treated specifically to remove tarnish and protect silver items.

Note: As these are both pre-treated cloths, do not wash them as it will compromise their effectiveness.

Silver Care Tips

Here are a few best practices for keeping your silver looking like brand new:

  • Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, perfumes, and water to prevent tarnishing and preserve shine.
  • Avoid wearing your jewellery in pools, oceans, and hot springs.
  • Polish regularly with a soft cloth to maintain your silver's shine.
  • If needed, gently clean with lukewarm water and mild soap to remove dirt and debris. A soft-bristled toothbrush can help in this process. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry.
  • Keep your jewellery in an airtight bag or storage box (such as the one included) to slow oxidation and prevent the buildup of dust.
